CHP Officer Accused of Sexual Battery of Disabled Man at Arden Fair

SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento Police have made an arrest in a sexual batery investigation stemming from an incident that occurred last month in the 1600 block of Arden Way. The man arrested in the case was a California Highway Patrol Officer.

On June 20, officers responded to a report of a sexual battery that occurred in the public restroom of a department store. The 22-year-old disabled male victim reported he was inappropriately touched by a male subject in the restroom.

Using surveillance at the Arden Fair Mall they were able to develop leads in the case. 47-year-old Jeffery Closson was identified as a possible suspect.

Closson is a CHP officer, who was off-duty at the time of the alleged assault. Today detectives from Sacramento Police and the CHP arrested Closson. He was booked into the Sacramento Main Jail and charged with two counts of disorderly conduct -- loitering at a public toilet and sexual battery.
