Federal Indictment Issued Against Sen. Leland Yee

A federal grand jury has now issued an indictment against State Senator Leland Yee, Raymond "Shrimp Boy" Chow and 27 other defendants that were targeted in a FBI investigation the US Attorney's Office said lasted five years.

The indictment replaces a 137-page complaint presented last week and summarizes more than 50 counts of drug and weapons trafficking, money laundering, public corruption and murder for hire.

Yee is charged with taking illegal campaign donations, lobbying on behalf of medical marijuana legislation and conspiring to arrange an illegal arms deal between an undercover FBI agent and a longtime supporter.  He could face 125 years if convicted on all counts.

A candidate for California attorney general says lawmakers found guilty of crimes that endanger lives should face the death penalty.

Republican Phil Wyman says he's motivated by the case of Democratic Sen. Leland Yee.
