Help Floods in for Colorado Victims

The Red Cross is sending eight Sacramento-area volunteers to help out victims of the great Colorado floods.

Jordan Scott with the Red Cross says they're part of over 800 from around the nation.

"They're all helping in a variety of roles. They've all been trained in a number of positions. And when they get deployed, they get deployed in specific roles like feeding, sheltering, providing mental health services, care and comfort -- that kind of thing," Scott said.

Scott says the team will be deployed between two-to-three weeks initially.  They could remain in the area if they are needed.  Flood waters along the Big Thompson River have displaced thousands from their homes in the area northwest of Denver.
