Coroner IDs Girl Found in Trunk of Car

The mother of a 5-year-old girl who was found in the trunk of her car has been booked into the Yolo County Jail.

Aquelin Telemantes is accused of stuffing the girl in the trunk of her car in Davis and driving to Sacramento.

The coronor identified the girl as Tatianna Garcia. The daughter or Aquelin Telemantes and Oracio Garcia.

Sacramento police were called to the 7900 block of Pocket Road for a welfare check of the 5-year-old girl. When police arrived on scene, they found the child in the trunk of a car. Sacramento Police Officer Doug Morse says the child was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Following the discovery of the little girls body by Sacramento Police, Davis Police performed a search of Telemantes' home.

According to Yolo County Chief Deputy District Attorney Jonathon Raven, police uncovered evidence the girl was injured there before being put in the car trunk. Raven says they're waiting for reports before pressing charges.
