SACRAMENTO -- Mobile Food Trucks may soon make waiting at Sacramento International Airport a little easier.
The Department of Airports is taking bids from truck operators to rent space at the airport's free waiting area.
Spokeswoman Laurie Slothower believes the ability to get breakfast, lunch or dinner while you wait could improve customer experience.
"We've seen other airports -- like Tucson, and Tampa, and Cincinnati -- offer some kind of food truck, usually in their cell phone lot, so we just thought, 'Why not just give it a try?'"
Operators have the advantage of a month-to-month rental fee.
"They have a lot of flexibility. They don't have to be there every day. They're not locked into every day. But they have the option," Slothower said.
The deadline for applications is October 3rd. Get more information and learn how to apply.
