SACRAMENTO -- Sacramento will join San Francisco in looking to be repaid for mentally-ill patients who were dumped in those cities by a Las Vegas Hospital.
A special report by the Sacramento Bee uncovered hundreds of patients were sent from Rawson-Neal Psychiatric Hospital by Greyhound bus to various cities, including Sacramento and San Francisco.
The patients were given a few days worth of medication and told to look up help when they arrived at their final destination.
San Francisco is currently seeking $500,000 in compensation.
Sacramento City Attorney Jim Sanchez was not immediately available for comment.
