Supreme Court Tosses $3.4 Million Child Porn Judgment

The Supreme Court has tossed out a $3.4 million judgement in a child porn case and it has created ground rules on how much can be recovered by victims from those who've viewed their images.

Images of a woman named Amy being raped when she was eight are widely circulated on the internet.

"She's been seeking full restitution for the psychological counseling and other losses that she's suffered because of those crimes," said her attorney, Paul Cassell.

The Supreme Court says for that to occur, people viewing her images must be directly linked to her economic losses.

The justices leave the door open for partial awards, suggesting ways lower courts can compute what's proper under the law.
