Tamera Mowry-Housley gets emotional when talking about some of the racist tweets and messages she’s gotten from being married to her love, Adam Housley.
The actress, talk show host and former reality star opened up on an episode of OWN’s Oprah: Where Are They Now? this past Friday, and cried when speaking about the hurt the racist messages have caused.
“It’s hurtful, because my husband and I are so openly and fine with showing love, but people choose to look past love and spew hate,” Tamera said. “That’s what hurts me because I’ve never experienced so much hate ever in my life.”
“I get called ‘white man’s whore,’” she said while tears rolled down her face. “The new one was ‘back in the day you cost $300, but now you’re giving it to him for free. I couldn’t even fathom or think of these words, because I’m a product of it. My mom is a beautiful black woman and my dad is an amazing white man, and I grew up seeing a family. I didn’t grow up saying, ‘Oh, that’s a white man.’”
She continues, saying: “I love my husband so much. “I love our family. I love our dynamic. I’m proud to be in the relationship I am because it’s based on love. Pure love.”
